Siwan Tecwyn Jones

Siwan is an experienced Head teacher and is now one of our freelance educational consultants based in North Wales. She specialises in developing cross curricular rich tasks in the primary school, thinking skills, Assessment for Learning and all aspects of Literacy. She is also an experienced trainer, developing and presenting bespoke training sessions for schools.

She also works as a tutor for students in Bangor University, an external verifier with newly qualified teachers, and has also developed Welsh resources for Atebol.

She also was a Senior Partner for the National Support Programme, in the GwE region, supporting the implementation of the Literacy and Numeracy Framework in primary and Secondary schools. She also developed and presented successful training courses for teachers, teaching assistants and parents.

From 1995 – 2012, she was a teaching head teacher in two primary schools on Anglesey. She has experience of teaching every age group in the primary school and also developing resources for the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3.

During her time as a head teacher she also was a peer inspector for Estyn, a performance management assessor, a mentor and advisor. She also worked on developing thinking skills across the curriculum. As a seconded Welsh advisory teacher for Cynnal she supported and trained schools and personnel in Gwynedd and on Anglesey.

Her main interests at present are supporting schools and training personnel in implementing the recent changes to the curriculum in Wales, ensuring quality teaching and learning to raise standards in Welsh classrooms.
