Over the past 12 years, Harriet Davies-Cox has developed a wealth of experience as a foundation phase practitioner in Cardiff and the South Wales Valleys.
Harriet began her teaching journey following completion of a BA Education with Psychology degree at Cardiff University where she found her passion for supporting the development of a child centered approach to teaching and learning.
Harriet’s passion for the psychology behind learning led her to become a PSE lead within her primary school, presenting her work on emotional literacy and the assessment of PSE skills across the local authority. Harriet is a trained THRIVE practitioner which further underpins her philosophy for learning, as she ensures that the wellbeing of the child is at the heart of all school initiatives.
Harriet is currently enjoying working as a Foundation Phase leader and is also leading the development of Literacy across the school. She has vast experience of successfully embedding strategy to raise attainment and pupil progress, as well as developing the skills of teachers and teaching assistants alike.
Harriet has previously worked with TLC to develop STEM activities for the new curriculum in Wales.
