Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning works with schools around the world to help young people develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to thrive today and tomorrow.
This course is available at two levels, 2 and 3.
The Level 2 course aims to:
Explore areas of emotional intelligence - self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills.
Relate these to own life and that of others in economically developing countries, e.g. though a focus on clean water, lack of sanitation, endangered animals etc.
Compare and contrast with life in Wales and necessary strength in emotional intelligences.
Explore strategies for developing emotional intelligence, challenging norms and assumptions, and implement several of these within a global context in school.
The Level 3 course aims to:
Explore areas of emotional intelligence - self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills.
Challenge own world view and perspectives and relate to emotional intelligences.
Develop needs’ analysis focused on own learners’ emotional intelligence.
Critically evaluate possibilities for using global learning contexts with own learners to take into account emotional intelligence needs’ gap analysis.
Explore activities and develop own resources for improving own learners’ emotional intelligence through global learning.
Deliver activities and evaluate their effectiveness through learners’ self-evaluation.
Share and reflect on outcomes.
The training is available to groups, clusters or whole-schools online or as socially distanced face-to-face twilight, half-day or full day sessions in school.
Here are the training options available:
Level 2 (6 hours)
- 2 x 3-hour twilight sessions (in school face-to-face)
- 3 x 2-hour twilight sessions (in school face-to-face)
- full day whole school (in school face-to-face)
- 2 x 2-hour sessions plus mentoring (online).
Level 3 (12 hours)
- 2 x full day whole school (in school)
- 4 x 2-hour sessions plus mentoring (online).
