Stuart is a consultant for TLC. He has wide experience as a practicing teacher, and taught GCSE and GCE A level Physics, as well as being the Curriculum Deputy Head of a high performing 11-19 comprehensive school in South East Wales with over 350 sixth form pupils. He has wide experience of teaching and examining at GCE A level, and has published a Physics text book with Harper-Collins. He was the subject expert for Science, 14-19, for the Department for Education and Skills, Welsh Government, between 2008 and 2012. As a freelance education consultant Stuart and has worked on the development of criteria, accreditation and monitoring of both GCSE and GCE AS and A level science qualifications, including the current 2015 reforms for both Welsh Government and Ofqual.
He has wide experience of examining in Physics at both GCSE and GCE at examiner and at Principal Examiner level. Within the Welsh Government, Stuart has been instrumental in developing teachers' pedagogy through the programme for developing thinking and assessment for learning. He has coached and mentored hundreds of teachers across Wales to improve classroom practice thereby improving learner performance. He has worked extensively on the PISA support programmes and in developing and promoting scientific literacy.
He spent the last five years as the PGCE Physics tutor at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
