Siw Jones

Siw is a freelance educational consultant, specialising in language and literacy. From September 2013 to July 2015, she worked as a schools’ Partner on the National Support Programme (NSP) providing direct support and guidance to a large number of primary and secondary schools as they established The Literacy & Numeracy Framework in Wales. Within this role, she worked with headteachers, senior leaders, teachers and classroom assistants within the clusters assigned to her, and also across Wales.

From 2009 until 2013, Siw worked as a Senior Lecturer within the School of Initial Teacher Training and Education at Trinity Saint David University, specialising in Welsh and Education on the PGCE and BA QTS courses. Her role also included supporting and assessing students on school based experience and individual tutoring for research modules and as personal tutor.

Previously, she worked in an advisory capacity for Ceredigion Local Education Authority providing guidance and support to headteachers, teachers and governors on aspects of school leadership and management. Siw has a wide range of experience working in various schools in the primary sector as teacher and headteacher. She has contributed to several authoring projects including the national reading tests for Wales and is a primary schools inspector for Estyn. She is also a music specialist and has experienced national success in the field of children and youth choral competitions.
