Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning works with schools around the world to help young people develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to thrive today and tomorrow.
This course is available at two levels, 2 and 3.
The Level 2 course aims to:
Explore elements of global digital citizenship, e.g. personal identity and security - digital copyright and publishing, e.g. blogging, utilising online resources, e.g. Facebook.
Reflect on communication tools e.g. Skype, email etc.
Critically engage with wide range of global media.
Develop, and deliver, lessons for implementation of DCF focused on questioning origins, implications and power dynamics of global media.
In addition, the Level 3 course also includes:
Developing opportunities to use online collaboration features of productivity, e.g. Google Docs and/or Office 365.
Exploring collaboration experiences offered by social media and virtual environments.
Challenging own world view and perspectives and relate to digital citizenship.
Developing curriculum plans for implementing the DCF within a global citizenship theme which enable learners to view different perspectives and knowledge systems.
Exploring how best to support learners to reflect on their values and attitudes to support self-evaluation.
Delivering curriculum plan.
Taking learner self-evaluation into account when reflecting on progress.
The training is available to groups, clusters or whole-schools online or as socially distanced face-to-face twilight, half-day or full day sessions in school.
Here are the training options available:
Level 2 (6 hours)
- 2 x 3-hour twilight sessions (in school face-to-face)
- 3 x 2-hour twilight sessions (in school face-to-face)
- full day whole school (in school face-to-face)
- 2 x 2-hour sessions plus mentoring (online).
Level 3 (12 hours)
- 2 x full day whole school (in school face-to-face)
- 4 x 2-hour sessions plus mentoring (online).
